12 Days of Christmas - Designer Blog Hop

Welcome to Scrappy Bee Designers 12 days of Christmas blog hop!

It may still not be Wednesday for you, but since we´re in summertime here in São Paulo, Brazil, it´s already time for your freebie!

I deceided to hand draw some frames for you. I hope you´ll like them as much as I liked to make them. I think it´s a pretty little freebie that you can combine with your favorite Christmas kit, as well as with the other portions of this blog hop! They were made from scratch - even the texture was scanned by me...

I needed to scale down the frames a bit so all of them would fit in the preview, so I made a kind of sample page, using the simple frame and the freebie from my friend Pamela, from PBDesigns for this blog hop (it will be up for grabs next Friday on her blog!), in a way you can see the frames´ size and how it looks mixed with other designs:

Sooo, did I convince you? If so, download your freebie here (it´s a direct download) or clicking in the preview above.

I have to warn you that those cute kitties aren´t included on the zip file, but you can find very similar ones on your local cat shelter. Did you know that animal shelters always face trouble on the holidays? People donate less, have less time to do volunteer work on the shelters and there are more animals to help... I´m working as a volunteer on a cat shelter these holidays and, although ther´re hard work involved, it´s an awesome! These cats, however, aren´t from the shelter. They are my very own cats, all rescued from the neighbouring streets...

Now, back to the blog hop :) You have another spot today - if you still haven´t been on Sweet Dreamer By Sharon E. Grant´s blog, this is your next hop. (note that we´re on different time zones, and I´m ahead). And tomorrow, December 18th, your blog hop continues on Gypsy Butterfly´s blog. If you get lost, or want to see the previous entries, you can find the master list at the Scrappy Bee Forum. If you´re new to my blog, don´t forget to check my other freebies clicking on the free stuff link in the top bar.

Have fun!

Hello all!

Can you believe that it´s the third weekend of November? It means that the Scrappy Bee is having it´s $1 weekend sale, a.k.a The Honey Hive. For this weekend, I put the following items on sale:

To see more details and grab yours, go to my store. My template packs are usually $2,99, so, for the price of one you can get both of them and the Seashore or the harvest paper pack (that goes very well with My day: Fall kit) as a gift. Cool, isn´t it?

Do you want an alpha?

Today, I have an alpha for my loyal readers. It coordinates with my last kit: My day: Autumn. Click on the preview to see the full kit in my Scrappy Bee Store:

As you´ll see on tomorrow´s Scrappy Bee newsletter (don´t forget to subscribe!), this kit is 30% off right now:

Now, for your freebie *drum roll*: I made this alpha to coordinate with My day: Autumn, but I realised that it can coordinate with lots of other kits, not only by me. And, as I used a freeware font, I think it´s fair to share for free, with a CU license. Check the preview here, and the direct download link is below the preview:

Have a nice weekend!

DSD Fun at ScrappyBee + New Release

Today I am releasing a new kit at ScrappyBee: It´s called My day: Autumn, and is a very special kit for me. It´s the first full kit when I used lots of hand-drawn elements - Now I feel that my drawing skills are getting to a satisfactory point :) It´s also my first full kit where I mixed elements made with blocked daily life style in mind.

As always, I made the kit in a way I´d like a kit to digiscrap with: No "just recolored" stuff - even the solids have one texture each, no stacked flowers - they´re awesome, but I really like to have flowers that I can stack myself - and with a touch of artsy stuff and the woodgrain design trend - I simply love to play with different trends in my kits!

Click here to see the details on my store

A closer look on the papers:

The kit also includes this tiny pack with wordarts and title cards:

The harvest subway art and the wordart on the top are both in no-texturized black, so they can be used in several ways to match not only this kit, but any other you´d like to use. Do you want to mix and match My day: Autumn with another kit? Maybe clipping a paper from the other one in these word arts can be a good start :) What are you waiting for? Buy it here!

I didn´t make too many sample layouts with this kit, because autumns here are very different from the fall I´m painting on my kit. But I made a layout about some kitties and their mother - Who can go wrong with kitties? - And I´m preparing my first quick page pack, based on this kit, to be released very soon:

This kit - and all my store - are 50% off this weekend on the ScrappyBee DSD store wide sale:

Cool, isn´t it? Don´t forget to stop by my store to see what I have to offer - and buy while it´s on sale - and take a look on the awesome ScrappyBee designers - we have hundreds of cool products waiting for you!

Cool, isn´t it? I confess that I didn´t imagined this kit used in a blocked layout before :) Click on the layout to go to Annu´s blog an live some love.

Seashore - New kit by LW Designs!

Hello!

I hope you´re having a great weekend! Today is a happy day here because the female kitties on the first litter I´m foster end their after-neutering treatment and soon will be ready to find their forever homes! And next weekend is our town´s Doctor Who convention, and I´ll be there selling stuff and taking awesome pictures to scrap!

Yesterday I released a new kit at my ScrappyBee. It´s called Seashore:

On making this kit my aim was to offer my costumer some brighter colors to scrap trips to the beach and to give some flexibility too! You can both make cool clustered layouts, since all the flowers and buttons are sepparate pieces, or have a blended/artsy feel, with hand-drawn elements, a super cute stamped shell, and fun blended papers. The solids have different textures from each other, so they look better stacked.

This is one of the layotus I made using this kit:

Seashore is 43% off till September 7th, 2014. You can buy it clicking here. Happy Scrapping!

Make me Smile - Charity Colab

My dear friend Vanessa, from Scrappiness Designs, made an awesome charity kit in benefit of the family of one of her dear CT memers and fantastic digiscrapper:, to help out with a very delicate family situation, and she asked for some designer´s help. I contributed with a very tiny portion of what is an awesome kit. The color palette is awesome, and super trendy, and I hope you´ll like this kit as much as I liked to make my small portion. It´s for sale at Scraps and Pieces and include, a total of 58 papers, 57 elements and 10 Journal cards, not all shown in this cute preview:

Buying this kit you´ll be helping a real family in trouble, and have a great kit that can be used in different styles of digital scrapbook. Purchase it here and have fun!

Summer Day by Crescent Moon Designs

Don´t you wish your day had 48 hours, being 36 of sunlight? Well, I do. I have lots of fun stuff to show you, but so little time to write all the posts, argh :(

Well, today I´ll higlight a new kit by Crescent Moon Designs, called Summer Day. It has some super cute wordarts and very pretty drawn flowers (seems they´re a trend right now). And cute insects and a frog too. Well, see by yourselves:

I made a sample layout for this kit, using a blocked style to fit multiple photos in the same layout:

If you click on the picture to see the details, you´ll notice that the background behind the white flower is a paper from the kit too. It was originally on a background very similar to the one from the red rose picture, but the shadow looked weird so I deleted it. I also used a template by Karen Diamond.

If you like this kit, you can buy at the Crescent Moon Desings store at ScrappyBee or GoDigitalScrapbooking.

Have a nice weekend. I´ll bring other great news soon!

What is Happening at ScrappyBee

Have you seen the Honey Bees new collections? This month, we have a super cute collab, called Honey Bear:

The Honey Bear collab is ful of cute stuff - not everything is included on the colab previews. Also, it´s full of awesome neutral stuff, what makes this MEGA the kind of product that you´ll use over and over again. It´s free with purchases of 10,00 or more this month.

We also have our monthly honey pot. This month, several ScrappyBee Designers created goodies with the same color palette with a fishing theme. You must se how cute the submissions are:

This month, I joined the honey pot with a cute Mini-kit. While it´s still on the theme, I wanted it to have enough elements to make non-themed pages to. Here is my mini:

And here, a layout I made for my cat´s photobook with some of the mini pieces:

There are lots of other contributions to the HoneyPot, and all of them are priced 1,00 till June 7th. Take a look, for example, on Hook, Liner & Sinker collection by Crescent Moon Designs:

Don´t you think these fishing bears are cute? Well, I do! I hope to see you soon at ScrappyBee!

Luke, the lucky cat

May the 4th be with you!

Today is the Star Wars Day - the day where Star Wars fans all over the world show their love and appretiation for the George Lucas´ saga. I use to be in some kind of celebration, but this year I stayed at home - the biggest celebration in my town was the Star Was Run, a tematic street run at night. But it was on the other side of the city, I didn´t have a way to come back home after it... and well, I can´t run anyway :S

But, as it´s also iNSD I had fun anyway! And one of the pages I made this week was with an adorable picture that my husband took from our littlest kitty, which name is... guess what? Luke Skywalker! Although sometimes he behaves more like Anakin Skywalker, LOL. He and her sister, found me on my way to deliver a sign in the beginning of the year, and I simply could live those little fluffy things at the street, where someone abandoned them. They were just 40 days old or so back then... And they are more than adorable! Then, I was chatting with my geeky friends while I was setting up my craft booth in a geek event and one of then was with a Darth Vader´s action figure... Somehow I deceided at that moment to call them Luke and Leah Skywalker, and they have been rebels ever since, lol.

I made this layout for the iNSD template challenge from Love it, Scrap it at ScrappyBee (what? Haven´t you checked ScrappyBee iNSD challenges yet? Some of them are really easy, go to our forum now! If you´re too late for iNSD, we still have multiple challenges every month!). The kit I used is Feeling Lucky by Crescent Moon Designs:

It´s a fun Saint Patrick´s day because it is not like the traditional kits where everything is green. The papers are colorful and there are elements (like that cute rainbow and the coins pot) that, even being thematic, can be used for other kinds of layouts. They go very well with my cat´s pictures, for example.
Like everything at ScrappyBee, this kit is 50% off right now - but if you want it, run, because it will come back to regular price tomorow!

Happy Star Wars Day everybody!

You don´t wanna miss this CHARITY kit...

If you ask me what is my biggest and deepest fear, I´d say, I am really affraid of fire. I lost the count on how many times, since I was young, I had nightmares about my house set on fire... I was the child who had nightmares for a week when I saw kindergarten cop... And still today, I am very sensitive to news about fires...
So, when I knew that there was a charity colab being made for the family of Susan, of Susan Godfrey Designs, who got hit by a tragedy like this, I just needed to join. And seems this tragedy touched the hearts of lots of other designers too - have you seen a colab kit made by almost 60 designers before? Have you seen a colab of this size for ONLY TEN DOLLARS? Let me introduce you I´ll be there for you:

The digital world is a small world, indeed. Friends from all over the world come together and form friendships, like they've never been able to before, due to the availability of the world wide web and our ability to share so much of our lives via our crafting and scrapbooking adventures. This has given us a new opportunity to support each other in ways that would have never been possible before.
Susan Godfrey of Susan Godfrey Designs and her family recently lost their home and possessions in a horrible house fire in early February of 2014. Digital designers and scrapbook artists from around the world got together to make a collab, full of thousands of pieces of beautiful artwork to sell in order to help Susan and her family in this time of need. All monies (minus paypal fees) will go directly to Susan and bless their family during this time.
The digital scrapbooking collection includes pieces from dozens of designers and aspiring designers all over the web. Be sure to share your pages here in the GingerScraps gallery so we can see how you've celebrated the friendships in your life!
I'll Be There For You Mega Collab includes:
11 alphabets, 221 12x12 papers in assorted patters, paints, solids and textures, 3 arrows, 7 butterflies, 16 assorted buttons, 5 clips, 3 brads, 2 staples, 6 pieces of flair, 61 flowers, 29 frames, 38 journal cards, 21 leaves, 20 pieces of paint & confetti, 33 ribbons & bows, 6 banners, 20 pieces of stitching and string, 6 elegant swirls, 7 assorted tags, 93 pieces of word art, and dozens of other assorted pieces. Not all pieces are shown on previews.

My portion was only a tiny journal card set - something really, really small. But somehow, scrapping and designing make us transform in (digital) art a little bit of our feelings. We hope that you join us in the effort of helping this family by buing the arts we made - if charity itself don´t move you, what about 1.8Gb of scrap awesomeness for all the styles you can think about? Hurry to GingerScraps and buy this mega kit now - it´s only 10 dollars...

LW Designs first store is opening next Monday

And it´s not a Joke!

I am super excited to open my first digiscrap store at ScrappyBee. The whole store is opening on April 1st, so we will all grow together. I am also really excited because some great people that I´ve known from blog trains and digital scrapbook communities will be there with me! It will be a really fun place to hang around!

You will probably want to join our forum (you may want to put my username, Lorien as referee to get approved faster) and newsletter to know all the buzz about this wonderful digiscrap store and community!
